The Parks and Recreation Committee works with the Board of Mayor and Aldermen and the Town Manager to enhance and preserve recreational opportunities throughout Walden. The Committee provides recommendations on parks, trails, and outdoor facilities, and leads projects that improve residents' quality of life and access to nature.

Over the years, the Committee has helped create and maintain hiking trails, install trail signage, and develop parking areas at trailheads. It has also enhanced the community's outdoor experience through initiatives such as the Blueway Trail, the installation of water fountains for walkers, and beautification projects, including the cleanup and landscaping of Griffis Park.

Through these efforts, the Parks and Recreation Committee continues to promote outdoor recreation, conservation, and community engagement for residents and visitors alike.

The Parks and Recreation Committee meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:00pm at Walden Town Hall.
